todayAugust 1, 2021

Early on Saturday, Lollapalooza tweeted that DaBaby had been pulled from the festival lineup after his homophobic tweets.

“DaBaby has been removed from our lineup due to some recent events”

Joe Berchtold, head of communications for Lolla said in a statement to Billboard. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our guests and appreciate your understanding and cooperation while we work through these issues.”

Several of his tweets were about men and women saying they should stay in their respective gender norms as well as people who do not identify as male or female, who he called “them.”

“A woman is a female human being,” one tweet reads.

In the interview, he said “I’m not homophobic, but I don’t like when dudes try to act like girls.” He also said “I don’t like gay people trying to dress like women”.

He is not the first artist to be removed from the festival for making homophobic remarks. Tyler The Creator was also removed from last year’s lineup after controversial remarks about rape and race.
